Pimlico's Rising Sun is a Victorian-style lounge bar, serving craft ales, fine wines and a modern British menu made from locally sourced produce.
What sets this quirky establishment apart from the rest of London’s pubs and bars, is its rather curious outer appearance: despite its excellent central location, the Rising Sun is inside a 1960’s style suburban home. Clean and tidy picnic benches line the outside of the venue, and the deceivingly small entrance gives way to a spacious dining area which is waited on by ever-cheerful staff.
Food is served daily from midday until 9pm; expect locally sourced Modern British fare for a main course, plus sumptuous snacks and delicious desserts. The Rising Sun is somewhat of a community hub, so your meal may well be soundtracked by the occasional live musician or band.
The Rising Sun boasts an al fresco patio playing host to barbecues in the summer, and plenty of heaters in the winter, making it the perfect spot to catch up with friends after work on any night of the year. Wifi is available throughout, meaning it’s also an ideal destination to relax before or after a business meeting.
Despite only being a two-minute walk from the entrance of Victoria station, the Rising Sun’s charisma and laid-back feel sets itself far apart from the usual station pub pack. Notable attractions in the area include the Saatchi Gallery, which is a 10 minute walk away.
