Liam H.: "My wife and I had a very enjoyable evening here in early March. The restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable, with best quality table settings, in keeping with its historic surroundings. The menu was set-price 2 and 3-couse, with about 6 choices in each course. These were in keeping with the best country house tradition, but with a modern and light touch. Every item on every plate was crafted, and presented, with care. My only niggle would be that I would have liked a little more of the meat portion (honey glazed slow cooked belly of pork) Service was of top-notch hotel standard, but friendly and not at all formal or stuffy, and waiting times between ordering and each course quite acceptable (although it was a quite night!). Price, whilst not cheap, was reasonable for the standard of food, service and ambience, made all the more so by the 25% Gourmet Card discount on the total bill!"
