Nestled amongst the beautiful Northumberland countryside is the magnificent Macdonald Linden Hall, which acts as a golf and country club as well as a fantastic location to dine. Accepting one and all, be they hotel guests, visiting golfers or hungry gourmets, the Macdonald Linden Hall makes for an ideal spot to grab some sumptuous food when in the area.
Originally built by a merchant and banker, Charles William Bigge, this wondrous country house hotel has been standing since 1812. Still retaining much of the period charm from its origins, the Macdonald Linden Hall also features a wealth of modern comforts, including televised sports and free WiFi.
Diners can rest in the fantastic Linden Tree Pub and sample some truly delicious fare at an excellent price, courtesy of the Gourmet Society card. An informal alternative to the AA Rosette awarded Dobson Restaurant found in the hotel, the food served at the Linden Tree Pub is just as exquisite.
Offering guests plenty of pub favourites, albeit enriched with elegant twists, the menu is awash with British classics. Begin with a tantalising taste of the dishes to come, with exemplary appetisers such as the rich Craster kipper pate, the scrumptious omelette Arnold Bennett and the refreshing goat’s cheese and roasted beetroot salad.
The main courses offer just as much diversity, with utterly delectable dishes such as the succulent chargrilled ribeye steak, served with fries and a creamy peppercorn sauce, the irresistible steamed mussels, cooked in a garlic and white wine broth, and the sumptuous goat’s cheese filled gnocchi, adorned with cracked black pepper.
A cornucopia of beloved desserts are also available, offering diners a rich three course meal at the Linden Tree Pub at Macdonald Linden Hall.
