The west London area of Chiswick has many points of interest - like Chiswick House, once the seat of the Devonshires; Hogarth's House, the home of the poet; and the famous Fuller's Brewery - London's largest and oldest. Among these illustrious names, you'll find one more that should be added to the list of Chiswick's must-visit places - Rowan's Cafe and Bar. Known mainly for being a free party venue with capacity of up to 200 people, it's also a charming eatery with a quaint, cottage-like ambiance, a patio for spring and summer, and comfy chairs and seats that make it easy to lounge around for hours. As the staff are fond of saying, Rowan's is a place where strangers become friends.
Rowan's menu is casual, specialising in food that's fun to eat yet full of taste. The chefs prepare a great selection of international favourites, like their own special cod pate, smoked salmon and crème fraiche blinis, or the marinated chicken satay skewers with spicy peanut sauce. The lamb kebabs with minted Greek style yoghurt are also popular, as are salmon Thai fishcakes with sweet chilli sauce. Breakfast is served all day long, or guests can choose from numerous sandwiches, paninis, baguettes, wraps or toasties. Those in a mood for just a nice nibble will enjoy sausage rolls, chicken goujons, olives and dips, or lime and chilli chicken wings. The bar is well stocked with wines, beers, spirits and champagnes.
Rowan's Cafe and Bar is Chiswick's little gem, well worth seeking out and enjoying, whatever the season and occasion.
