Found in the idyllic village of Iden in East Sussex, The Iden Bell is a friendly and welcoming open house. Local legend has it that the original building was used as accommodation for the monks that built Iden church. It’s also thought that there is a tunnel between the pub cellar and the church and although this hasn’t ever been proven, staff are always on the lookout for the vicar turning up in the cellar!
Nowadays the Iden Bell offers spacious bed and breakfast rooms as well as homemade food, real ale, continental lagers and a superb wine list, all of which are available visitors to and residents of this picturesque rural village, whether renting a room at the pub or just popping in for a drink and a bite to eat.
The Iden Bell are proud of their home cooked food and enjoy using the abundant local produce in the creation each of the seasonal dishes served. Traditional pub grub is the order of the day, with delights such as burgers, fish and chips, a full English breakfast, pies and roasts all known to grace the menu.
With a fabulous discount on offer to gourmet society members who book in advance and mention their gourmet society membership, there’s no reason not pop in to this delightful village pub for a casual catch up with friends and family or an after work drink and bite to eat with colleagues.
