The Hampshire Hog is a pub founded and run with passion and pedigree, being the second establishment to be opened by Abigail Osborne and Tasmin Olivier. Having been forced out of their previous pub, The Engineer, after seventeen years of service due to an expired lease the team brought their accumulated experience and excellence to The Hampshire Hog.
Serving up quintessentially British pub food throughout the day, The Hampshire Hog is a restaurant that caters to all tastes and dietary requirements with truly scrumptious food. With two separate menus, the former for Brunch and the latter for Dinner, diners will find something highly agreeable no matter what time of the day they visit. Appearing as a grand, West London pub at the front yet sporting a scenic garden area at the back, The Hampshire Hog is an oasis of tranquillity and delight amidst the bustling city.
In the early afternoon diners can be treated to meals of varying sizes, with nibbles and starters making perfect snack and main meals ideal for a lengthy stay. Luxurious starters such as the Cornish Scallops, complete with chili and garlic butter, and Chargrilled English Asparagus and Scottish Smoked Salmon, accented with crème fraiche, make for wonderful appetisers while sustainable mains like the 7oz Hereford Beef Burger, stacked with smoked bacon and chili relish, and the Lemon and Thyme Chicken, marinated and chargrilled, are satisfying lunch options.
Similar to the Brunch menu yet with some special additions, the Dinner menu displays plenty of tantalising choices for a gratifying meal. Well suited for Vegetarians are salads like the refreshing Raw Fennel and Chargrilled Halloumi, mixed with dried cranberries and dill and orange dressing, or the main dish the delectable Raw Courgette Spaghetti, topped with basil cashew nut pesto and cherry tomatoes.
Fit for the most meat-driven carnivores are grilled marvels like the succulent Welsh Lamb Chops, marinated and served rare, and the engorging Hog Sausage Wheel, an ensemble of varied sausages that showcase the local delicacies. All main dishes can be paired with an array of enticing sides, such as the Maldon sea salt and rosemary dusted Hand Cut Chips, a mix of Grilled Vegetables or the yogurt and spring onion infused Crushed New Potatoes.
Indulgent desserts are available, like the divine Grilled Kent Peach and Amaretti Biscuit, served with lychee puree and Bulgarian yogurt ice cream, and the decadent Dark Chocolate Mousse, drizzled with Cointreau and a blood orange sauce, and are made all the more fantastic when enjoyed in the beer garden area, should the sun make a rare appearance.
