Urban Kitchen at the four star Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel presents contemporary dishes borne from a large range of influences. From grass-fed British steak, to a fusion of flavours from the opposite end of the world, Urban Kitchen succeeds in it's aim to provide diners with a contemporary and diverse dining experience.
Large windows give some of the best views of the Cardiff possible. At night, the lights across the city make for a spectacular sight. An open plan kitchen lets diners see their food being prepared, but despite the frenetic energy and passion of the chefs behind the counter, Urban Kitchen maintains a cool ambience. For a delicious starter, try Urban Kitchen's crispy duck and shredded vegetables flavoured with chilli, peanut and coriander oil, or salmon fishcake, seasoned with shaved fennel and served with an onion, lemon and caper dressing.
Main courses range from roasted lamb rump, to Moroccan spiced vegetable and chickpea tagine served with a basil scented couscous, and from the towering brioche Ranch burger, filled with premium steak, onion rings, crispy bacon and barbecue relish, served with irresistible twice-cooked chips, to the zesty superfood salad: heaped with quinoa, mini falafel, avocado, broad beans, peas and sunflower seeds.
In close proximity to Bute Park and the Millennium Stadium, the Mercure's Holland House Hotel could not be in a better location for visitors. Take a few hours out of your day to sample the exquisite cuisine on offer inside Urban Bar and Kitchen.
Please note that during big events around Cardiff the restaurant cant accept bookings so please call a couple of days in advance to avoid disappointment.
